For Auld Lang Syne

The last decade of my life has been full of many challenges and difficulties. But now, on this last day of the decade, I can still smile.  All of the challenges, pain and heartache, has only served to open my eyes to the provisions and plans of the Lord.  It is a hard thing to explain unless you have endured difficulty and observed  the hand of God moving about in your circumstances.  In my case, I came to recognize that He even had ordained a purpose for my sufferings and had prepared me since childhood for these times.   He sees all and knows all.

Despite the current difficulties,  I have been increasingly cognizant that this moment in time is not the focus for living.  Difficulties do not eclipse His purposes or His provision.   It is still  a time to look ahead and recognize God’s movements in our lives, in our friends, and in the earth.

Thy Kingdom come is the hope manifesting in the earth in these days.  A day of great power is coming when the followers of Jesus will perform the works of Jesus..and even greater.  The Age of The Kingdom and the days of Greater Glory are encroaching.   Reinhardt Bonnke, who died a few days ago, was a “general” in that tradition of manifesting the miracles of Jesus to transform the continent of Africa.   Yet there is so much more ahead.  There is so much more of the “Kingdom”  ahead.  Kat Kerr is right.  It’s the season to look ahead and prepare for God’s leading and  “Get Your Crowns on!”

Still on this last day of the year and the decade, I can not help but reflect on what has been and what has happened in my own life..some good and some bad…but all with the promise that “I will work ALL things together for good to those who love Me and are called according to my purposes.”   I don’t know about you, but I qualify because it is my desire to qualify.   And desire is all He needs.

But in this moment, as the year and the decade closes, perhaps it is permissible to look back one more time, with a little nostalgia and mix of emotions, and consider it all for old times sake……for the sake of  Auld Lang Syne…
